State Senator Len Suzio is preparing to introduce new legislation that will cap the hidden gasoline tax whenever the price of gas exceeds $3.00 per gallon.
The tax is currently on a percentage of price basis so the state loves it when the price of gas goes up.

STATE DECD OFFERING SMALL BUSINESS LOANS AND GRANTS
The State Department of Economic and Community Development is currently taking applications for its Small Business Express Program.
The state has allocated $180 Million dollars for this program. Loans and grants are available for eligible activities for businesses with fewer than 50 employees.
The big difference for these programs is that the application is only one page and is designed for a fast turnaround. They are trying to have the cash in company’s hands in about 30 days.
Also, the collateral and personal guarantee requirements are more flexible than with previous programs.
